Shane Cockrill

Head Pastor

Shane Cockrill grew up in Massillon and lived in both the west and northeast sides of the city. His junior year of high school, he transferred into the Tuslaw Local School district and went on to graduate from Tuslaw. This combined experience has given Shane a heart for the people of both the Massillon City and Tuslaw Local School Districts. Shane went on to Kent State University where he received a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in School counseling. It was during his college years that Shane started attending Abundant Life at a friend's invitation and started dating his wife Mary, who has been a lifelong attender of Abundant Life. After graduate school, Shane went on to work for the Dalton Local School District as an intervention specialist. During that time, Shane began working with Abundant Life's Board of Directors and God began leading him towards pastoral ministry. In 2009, he officially made the leap from education and began serving as Pastor of Abundant Life. His wife Mary is a kindergarten teacher at Mount Eaton Elementary School. Shane and Mary have two sons, Elijah and Isaiah. When Shane is not serving in his role as Pastor, he enjoys woodworking, playing his guitar, entertaining family and friends, and coaching his son's ball teams.

OUR BOARD

Abundant Life Christian Fellowship is run by a Board of Directors, which typically consists of 3 Elders and 3 Deacons, as well as our Pastor and Head Elder. Our Board of Directors are responsible to lead our church by handling or overseeing the administrative tasks and decisions needed to keep our church and its people thriving as we seek to love God and our neighbors.
